M, The Bali Villa Rental

There is a wide variety of holiday accommodation in Bali, ranging from backpacker hotels to luxury rental villas, such as Bali Villa M, but it is only in recent years that these private serviced villas has become available.

It all began with the hippies of the 1970s, who recognised the business and investment potential of the Island; they leased land and built houses and many are still living their dreams today. By the mid 1980s, Bali embracing tourism with the influx of thousands of package tourists yearning for sunny holidays at rock-bottom prices; and with tourism came a flood of development, initially in the form of Kuta’s cheap and cheerful beach bungalows and budget hotels.

In the late 1990s, property development and investment began to take a new direction. The Island moved up-market, with chic new restaurants, lavish spas and classy boutiques, while at the same time gaining prestigious international awards for the world class architecture of its magnificent hotels and exclusive villa hideaways.

Flowers in Bali

In Bali, flowers are a blessing of the Gods. Symbolising purity and sincerity, the Balinese people use them for their prayers and daily offerings. Among them, the lotus is particularly sacred, its eight petals are in the image of the universe, and it is believed to be the dwelling of the great God, Hyang Widhi.

The striking red flowers of the hibiscus, meanwhile, represent the courage of warriors, and the Balinese would go off to battle with these big bright flowers behind their ears. Today in Bali, you can see dancers dressed as warriors, with sabres on their backs, holding these flowers and simulating a battle.

The ‘dadap merah’ or ‘cockscomb coral’- so called because its rich velvet-ruby flowerheads resemble the comb of a rooster- also plays a part in Hindu rituals, including wedding ceremonies.

Finally, the sweet scented waxy blossoms of the frangipani are used in every form of decoration, including the spectacular head dresses of the Balinese legong dancers. Often planted near Hindu temples, the frangipani is a symbol of immortality because the tree will continue to blossom even after it has been uprooted.

You will see many colorful tropical flowers including red hibiscus, lotus, frangipani and cockscomb at Villa M Bali. gorgeous garden, your Bali luxury private villa and also Bali wedding venue.

Bicycling in Bali

In Bali, the pushbike was the established form of transport long before motorbike and cars. Look around and you will see middle aged women with ultra straight backs, taking things slowly on upright old boneshakers while carrying a 10 kilo bag of rice on their heads. Mobile shops on two wheels shell everything from ice creams and street food to doormats, brushes, brooms, beach balls, caged birds and goldfish in plastic bags; the bicycle barely visible under the volume of the wares. Hoards of impeccably dressed school children make their way to and from their lessons by bike, and in the countryside you will spot ancient bicycles without any brakes slung beneath trees, their panniers full of freshly picked green crops.

The Bali Villa M offers the complimentary facility of well maintained, high standard mountain bikes for guest use. The private Bali Villa is located in a gorgeous rural area close to the traditional village of Umalas where the flat roads are ideal for cycling. If you fell like taking some gentle exercise while viewing traditional life of Bali this is the ideal way to do it.  The main roads of Bali can be congested, so stick to the quieter country roads and enjoy a bike ride through the rice fields or to the beach; the helpful staff at Villa M in Bali will be happy to point you in the right direction. The remarkable thing is that when you are actually pedalling, you don’t feel the heat, just a cool and pleasant self created breeze.

Enjoy the many beautiful opportunities open to you when you stay at the Villa M, one of the best private villas in Bali.

Balinese Hindu Culture

Treasure the vibrant Balinese Hindu culture while you are in Bali.

The Balinese people believe that their beautiful Island is a gift from the Gods and for this they give thanks, every day, by leaving millions of offerings in every shrine, doorsteep, nook and cranny. These tiny woven palm frond trays-lined with banana leaf and containing a symbolic assortment of rice, flower petals and incense- are known as ‘Canang’. You will see these offerings at Villa M Bali Luxury Villa.

If you are spending a week or more in Bali, you will be sure to see some kind of temple festival, colorful procession, or ceremony. The ‘Odilan’, or temple anniversary celebration, is a lavish ceremony commemorating the founding of the temple, and as the Odilan date varies from one temple to another, you will probably have the opportunity to see one. There are also numerous Island-wide religious festivals to mark sacred days according to the Balinese calendar, together with family rituals such as birth celebrations, tooth filling ceremonies, weddings and cremations.

Enjoy the cultural experience in Bali with The Bali Villa M.
